The Institute of Brewing & Distilling has achieved chartered status

We are delighted to announce that the Institute of Brewing & Distilling (IBD) has been granted chartered status. From 1st January 2024, when the Institute will be incorporated as a chartered organisation, the IBD will be named the Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers.

The 8th Worldwide Distilled Spirits Conference brings the global distilling industry to Edinburgh

With the central theme of ‘Sustaining Future Reality: Delivering Distilling Excellence and Developments’, distillers, research scientists and suppliers to the spirits sector will come together to discuss current challenges, find ground-breaking solutions and learn from and connect with each other at the 8th Worldwide Distilled Spirits Conference (WDSC). The conference takes place in Edinburgh from the 9th to the 11th May.

Tasmania announced as 2025 IBD Asia-Pacific Convention home

At the close of the 37th IBD Asia Pacific Convention, the Institute of Brewing and Distilling Asia Pacific is pleased to announce the venue and dates for the 38th IBD Asia Pacific Convention which will take place in Hobart, Tasmania on 3-7 March 2025.

New Beer Recipe Development Course Created by the Institute of Brewing & Distilling is Available Now

The Institute of Brewing & Distilling (IBD), the most widely recognised learning provider of technical education in the brewing industry worldwide, has launched its first technical self-assessed and on-demand short course - Beer Recipe Development. The course provides essential knowledge for recipe development for experienced commercial brewers with a sound understanding of the basics of brewing, and it will also benefit more serious home brewers.
