Kintyre is a peninsula in south-west of Scotland which stretches almost thirty miles from the Mull of Kintyre in the south to Tarbet in the north. A mile-high vibe - The Craft Brewers go to Denver
By: Roger Putman
01/05/2014
To finish this section about recent conferences, we go across to Denver, where the 13th step of the State Capitol building is exactly 5280ft above sea level, for the biggest of them all – the US Craft Brewers. If you use the optimistic conference counting method of the total of all those involved in any capacity at any time we get to some
Behind the icy façade - Draught beer down-under
By: Brad Murray
01/05/2014
Icy-cold beer doesn’t always excite the brewer, but it has been the enduring characteristic of draught beer in Australia. Prior to glycol systems, most draught venues in Australia had ‘Temprites’. By: Colin McCrorie
01/05/2014
At last, as a triumphant coda, a paper on ‘beer dispense developments’ to mark the end of my first literary pilgrimage from grain to glass in eight articles. Courting Mary Jane - What makes Ilkley Brewery tick?
By: Roger Putman
01/05/2014

Founder Chris Ives would say it is simply using the finest materials with a committed and imaginative band of brewers giving the customers what they want. All the other 139 little brewers in Yorkshire would say the same thing so I went along to see marketing guy Luke Raven to try and discover the Ilkley USP.

By: Steve Curtis

March traditionally brings about the start of spring in the UK as well as the annual conference of the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA). Following last year’s change of venue from Stratford to the much larger Pond’s Forge in Sheffield, 2014 brought yet another move, this time out of the city centre to the iceSheffield venue.
