Cask beer, despite rumours of its demise a few decades ago, is still enjoying a renaissance due to the efforts of CAMRA in the UK and the craft brewers elsewhere in Europe and the Americas. The ‘poor cousin’ of the family is the keg, which is suffering in the UK from the relentless pub closure programme and the remorseless rise and proliferation of smallpack products.

Founded in 1823, Schönbuch Braumanufaktur in Böblingen near Stuttgart is today under the management of the sixth generation and is the oldest family business in the town. When it became time to replace the 1986 KHS keg line, Schönbuch opted for KHS’s new compact Innokeg Till CombiKeg keg washing and racking system which is specially aimed at small and medium-sized companies.
