In May 2016 the World Beer Cup, splendidly organised by the Brewers’ Association, was held in Philadelphia, the city where the ‘American Dream’ began. Having been invited to judge at the event, my thoughts turned to the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) and its excellent Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (known as The Penn Museum) – with its world-renowned Biomolecular Archaeology Project.
Modern moderation - Rise in moderate alcohol consumption presents opportunity for adult soft drinks

As consumers across Europe embrace a healthier lifestyle, a growing trend for more moderate alcohol consumption is emerging. Research conducted by Kerry Taste and Nutrition shows that half of consumers are actively reducing their alcohol intake, with 40 per cent of those surveyed stating that their change in habit comes as a result of health concerns.

They have been a long time in development but the changes resulting from the Diploma Examination Review that was first mooted in 2014 are now ready to be released to examination candidates in the form of revised syllabi and a new examination format for June 2018 examinations.
