In May of this year, delegates from the UK Southern Section visited Catalonia in Spain where we were reminded of another famous tour eighty-one years ago. As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning is a memoir by Laurie Lee, a British poet, describing his walk through Spain in 1935. It is a sequel to Cider with Rosie which detailed his life in post First World War Gloucestershire. So as we walked out one midsummer morning we were reminded of his epic travels as we encountered warm welcomes from our hosts in Barcelona and later in Girona.
