IBD Asia Pacific Announces New Board Chair
The Institute of Brewing and Distilling Asia-Pacific (IBD AP) is pleased to announce changes to the Asia-Pacific Board with the appointment of Dr Garry Menz to its Chair.
Megan has more than 20 years of experience in the barley, malting and brewing industries working for Joe White Maltings, Lion, Barley Australia, before joining Grains Australia Limited as General Manager Classification.
Megan Sheehy was unanimously accepted as Interim Deputy President at the most recent Council meeting in March.
Her appointment lends further support to the activities of the Board. It completes the number of required Officers for the Board of Trustees in the period between Ian Roberts’ departure from the Board and the following AGM in September 2022 at which point a full nominations process will be held.
Based in Adelaide, Megan has over 20 years of experience in the barley, malting and brewing industries, having worked with Joe White Maltings, Lion, and most recently Barley Australia, prior to joining Grains Australia Limited as General Manager Classification in February 2022.
Megan is a Fellow of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD) and a former Director and Chairperson for the Board of Management for the IBD’s Asia Pacific Section.
Megan holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of New South Wales and has held various operational and technical roles at Lion and Joe White Maltings. She has most recently gained extensive experience in Industry Good functions within the barley and the broader grains industry during her time at Barley Australia.
She brings with her great leadership skills, and knowledge of and passion for the IBD and its progress.
