By the Southern Section in Partnership with Brewers' Company
Join your fellow brewers and cycling lovers on Saturday 25th June.
The Brewers' Company is organing a cycle trail which will start in Woolwich and will end 20 miles later.
You can join in or drop out en route.
The trail is not strenuous -Bromptons will do it- and has been designed to run through traffic-free paths and across London bridges.
It will follow Fullers via points of brewing interest in Greenwich, Bermondsey, Horsleydown, Southwark, Battersea, Wandsworth and Mortlake - with a few stops for (low gravity) refreshment.
This is the planned cycling and pubs route and rough timings:
-
11.00 am – Gallions Reach DLR – then over Woolwich foot tunnel to…
-
11.20 am – Woolwich Ferry South Pier
-
12.00 noon – Meantime / Brew by Nos (close together – stop if group consensus)
-
12.30 pm – Small Beer Brewing Co – First official stop – Felix hosting us
-
1.00 pm - Four Pure / Partisan / Kernel etc (on Bermondsey mile – nothing organised but stop if group consensus)
-
1.30 pm – Southwark (second official stop; Peter Jackson is away but someone will show us around)
-
2.00 pm – Over Tower Bridge – then just along Embankment on Cycle Super Highway to Chelsea Bridge
-
3.00 pm – Battersea Brewing Co / Mondo / Disruption – all keen for us to stop
-
4.30 pm – Sambrooks (again – Duncan is away but someone will show us the brewery and John Hatch’s museum)
-
6.00 pm – Finish at Fullers (will be closed!)
So that could be 12 working and 6 former breweries…
