Join us for an insightful event for all brewers and distillers. You will visit barley, wheat, and rye crops in the field, giving you a firsthand look at crop growing conditions. Plus, you'll tour Bairds’ Inverness Maltings, which has recently expanded with a keen focus on sustainability.

This is your chance to deepen your understanding of modern malting processes that are key to making top-quality beer and whisky.

Please note that hard hats, Hi-Viz & safety footwear are compulsory for this event.

 

Schedule:

  • 12.00 - Arrival at Maltings
  • 12.15 - Safety Induction & Safety Wear Check
  • 12.30 - Buffet Lunch
  • 13.15 - Maltings Tour
  • 15.15 - Drive out to Barley Plots on the Black Isle (car-sharing)
  • 15.30 - Barley Field Walk and Crop Inspection with the farmer and maltster
  • 16.30 - Drive back to Inverness
  • 17.00 approx - to Black Isle Pub, Inverness for pizza and networking.
  • 18.00 onwards - Depart

Travel information:

  • Bairds Inverness Maltings is 1 km from Inverness Railway Station, but car-sharing will be required to visit the Barley Field Plots on the Black Isle (8 m from the Maltings)
