IBD Great Northern Section Annual Walk & Brewery Visit

Join the IBD Great Northern Section in this social gathering to promote member networking and fellowship.

Enjoy a summer walk along Macclesfield Canal and the beautiful local countryside.The event is open to members, guests, partners, family, and friends, and is not a high-level walking weekend.

Come along for one or both days, make a weekend of it with a Saturday evening Brewery visit. Sunday will be a relatively easy walk. We recommend suitable outdoor footwear and clothing for conditions on the day of the walk. 

Saturday 10th June - Walk

• Meet 09.45 for a prompt 10.00 start at Congleton Train station, Park Lane Congleton CW12 3DE (car park fee £3 all day)
• Bring a packed lunch
• The walk is a circular 9 mile route which follows part of the Macclesfield Canal before heading onto the Bosley Cloud.

Saturday 10th June - Brewery Visit

• Meet at Beartown Brewery, Spindle Street, Congleton CW12 1QN at 18.00 for a Brewery Tour.
• Following the tour, we will stay at this venue.

Sunday 11^th June

• Meet 09.45 for a prompt 10.00 start at Ashbury Mere Country Park, Sandy Lane, Congleton CW12 4FP.
• The walk is a circular 4 mile route which takes in the Mere, part of Macclesfield Canal, and local countryside.
