Join us for a lecture - “Looking and tasting good – some thoughts on foam and beer stability” - by the world renowned brewing scientist and author, Charlie Bamforth, Distinguished Professor Emeritus from the University of California, Davis!
After the lecture there will be a BBQ social where you can network with attendees and explore the University Process Research brewery. BBQ foods will be provided by the Midland section but we kindly request that delegates bring along their favourite small pack beers to share!

Professor Charlie Bamforth, University of California, Davis. Distinguished Professor Emeritus
Charlie Bamforth is an eminent figure in brewing science, having held prominent positions in academia and industry in a career spanning four decades. Popularly known as the ‘Pope of foam’, he has also authored numerous books, articles, and papers, and has been recognised with prestigious awards from various organisations, including the IBD Horace Brown Medal. He has been actively involved in education and mentorship within the brewing community. Currently working as a Senior Quality Advisor at Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Charlie continues to publish work that advances our knowledge of beer and works to make brewing more accessible to a wider audience.
