Salary: £26,780 - £30,600 commensurate with skills and experience

Core job responsibility will be to support the Examinations Board Team to ensure that all Examination Board processes and procedures are to the highest standards required by the IBD and that overall integrity is maintained.

Main Duties:

  • General day-to-day administration support to assist the Examination Board Officer in the smooth running of the Examination Board
  • Examination enquiry handling with support of Examination Board Officer as required
  • Collation of Reasonable Adjustment, Appeals and Exemptions for review
  • Collaboration with Assessment platform support services as required
  • Validation and Management of all Examination Board data and information to ensure high levels of data integrity in all Examination Board systems
  • Assisting in production and distribution of any Examination Board reports as required
  • Distribution of all exam communication to candidates and key stakeholder before relevant deadlines, also ensuring that all up to date notices are made available
  • Generation of Invoices and processing purchase orders for Examination Board
  • Organisation of Examination Board meetings and travel as required
  • Ensure that all Examination Board policies and procedures are adhered to through all of the above activities and coordinate the review processes for these with CoBE.
  • Carry out such similar duties as may be required by the Chair of Board of Examiners, commensurate with the post


    Qualifications / Training

  • Educated to A level -Essential
  • Educated to degree level -Desirable
  • Qualifications in brewing, distilling or sciences would be advantageous -Desirable

    Requirements and Skills
  • Ability to successfully work as part of a remote team - Essential
  • Previous office experience essential, ideally in professional examination environment - Essential
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills and able to remain calm under pressure - Essential
  • Self-motivation and be able to multitask across a range of different work streams concurrently and prioritise daily workload - Desirable
  • Ability to handle examination requests and queries appropriately - Essential
  • MS Office, IT systems and English proficiency - Essential
  • Up-to-date with latest office gadgets and applications - Desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills - Essential
  • Discretion and confidentiality and understanding of and commitment to Data Protection - Essential
  • Able to follow and enforce mandatory regulations - Desirable
  • Ability to determine solution-based approaches as and when they are required

    Other Requirements 

  • Ability to flex working days and hours to cover peak activities as required that will average out to 5 days per week per annum
  • Possible occasional travel required to IBD meetings.

    Two positions are available:

  • Short term assignment from February to September (inclusive) 2025
  • Maternity Cover from end February 2025 to beginning March 2026.
