As we transition to becoming the Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers (CIBD) on 1st January 2025 with a new website, you will not be able to book any qualifications or short courses between 1st January and 5th January 2025. If you have already booked a qualification or a short course with us, you will continue to have access to the learning material on Moodle

Distilling Qualifications
Designed to support you on your journey through your distilling career. From the very beginning to running a corporate or independent distillery, there is a qualification and training course that is right for you.
General Certificate in Distilling
This covers the basic knowledge required for a senior operator or team leader in a larger distillery or for general distillers from the growing independent sector.
Diploma in Distilling
Attaining the IBD Diploma gives an internationally recognised and comprehensive understanding of distilling science and its application.
Master Distiller
The highest level of IBD qualification, requiring the diploma or an equivalent qualification (e.g. a BSc or MSc in Distilling Science).
