About these courses:

The world of adult learning is rapidly changing as modern technology supports access to knowledge and information. The IBD keeps itself up to date with global trends though regular attendance at international conferences and inputs from industry experts, and this is reflected in the changes that the IBD is currently implementing:

  • All learning material is being re-written to support self-directed learning, and delivered online. This allows candidates to have a rich learning experience (quizzes, videos, animations etc.) and to pace their studies to fit into busy modern lifestyles.
  • As a result of providing learning material online, classroom based ‘teaching’ courses are being gradually phased out. In place of ‘training’, the IBD is shifting to ‘tutoring’ where the responsibility for working through the learning material rests with the candidates, and the tutors are there to assist learning, answer questions, explain difficult concepts and ensure learning is not just a recollection of facts, but a deep understanding of how all the elements work together.
  • We recognise the importance of social interaction whilst learning, and live tutoring sessions are being introduced, both online and face to face.

Tutor Guided Learning: These are for Diploma courses that have the learning material as an online format. The online sessions run over 18 weeks from January to May, cover the entire syllabus and ensure candidates fully understand the learning material and are well prepared for their professional exams. There is a live contact session each week, and an active internet forum with the tutors. Classes are organised to suit different time zones and a maximum of 20 candidates work with their tutor.

Online Teaching: This program is for where the learning material is still supplied by the IBD as a document. Our expert trainers hold a number of online sessions to train the material.

Face to Face Teaching: This program is for where the learning material is still supplied by the IBD as a document. Our expert trainers hold a number of face to face sessions to train the material.

Face to Face Bootcamp: An intensive ‘Bootcamp’ to ensure you are 'match-fit' for the exams. Led by industry experts, this face to face interactive learning experience in which the whole syllabus is revised, is brought to life with practical sessions, exam  question practice, problem-solving and sensory training. Have fun, learn from others and go into the exams fully prepared!
